Sam JempsonI have had an interest in health and fitness for as long as I can remember, studying Leisure Management at college, before taking a diversion professionally into Music & Motorsport Publishing, but my enthusiasm for nutrition and fitness meant I studied in my own time to improve my knowledge. I also tried out a lot of gyms, a few personal trainers and plenty of different classes. Some I loved, some I didn’t – but all this shaped my interest in learning more.

I don’t just choose to work in the fitness industry, I use my spare time to read up on the latest health and fitness news, as well as attending ongoing training, learning new skills as often as I can, to ensure I deliver effective, varied and enjoyable Personal Training sessions and classes for clients.

I enjoy training people and encouraging them to reach their goals, without shouting! I like to motivate and encourage you to try something new, who knows what you can achieve if you don’t give it a go!

Before you hand over any of your hard earned money, I ask every new client to complete a brief assessment with me before they commit to any training sessions. This can help set goals or highlight preferences and maybe more importantly, lets me know what you don’t like! It takes about 20 minutes, we chat through any questions, your health and current fitness routine (and that includes walking the dog), what you want to achieve and roughly what time scale. I then get you to do a few basic exercises so I can set your first session at the right level for you.

My aim is that every client leaves their session with a sense of achievement and that’s what makes me happy.  If you haven’t tried Personal Training before, don’t be scared, yes, it’s a bit daunting at first but my job is to put you at ease and ensure you learn to workout (with or without me) safely, effectively, and with enjoyment (or at least enough enthusiasm to complete the session).
